Upgrading a Wall
SOLID MASONRY WALL
A solid wall requires a damp proof membrane to avoid water penetration from the outside. Timber studs are fitted running down the wall, and rigid insulation installed between the studs. A batten and plasterboard creates a service cavity and ensures that the air and vapour barrier is not penetrated by pipes or wires when fitting services.
