Constructing a New Roof

NEW ROOF

When constructing a new roof, there is the opportunity to increase the depth of the rafters, and also increase the spacing to 600mm. This reduces the amount of timber that bridges the insulation layer and makes a more thermally efficient roof. A breathable roofing membrane is fitted above the rafters, either rigid or fibrous insulation between rafters and TLX Silver below rafters. A batten and plasterboard creates a service cavity.
